Church is not a building, time, or place. It is a people. As we look over the life of Jesus; we see that He did more “church” in streets, homes, or mountains than he ever did in synagogues. However, in the United States, we have grown towards a culture that goes to a building on Sunday and back to the world the rest of the week. We have lost our daily need and hunger for the heart of our God. So, it makes sense why the secular American would be turned off to Christianity. We crave realness. A raw connection that grows and develops daily, not one day a week.

This week I planned to lead the first Bible study of our church plant, but as we got all the high school kids off the soccer court (It really is a court not a field), I ended up giving a sermon on the great and reckless love of the father. We met in a group on the concrete of the park on the towns main road, just off the street, on a Wednesday, with a few weak lawn chairs, one guitar, and an enormous amount of stoke. We had a family, a town directer, a drunken farmer (who gave his life to Jesus that night), a group of high school kids, and people who were passing by. It was raw and authentic; an outcome of an everyday relationship with the Father. All based around a love that closes no doors and welcomes all. A love that makes no sense in todays world. A wild and prepossessing love.

Live this week consumed in the Love we don’t deserve. Share it with all.

Love, B
