On my way home from Monday night bible study, stopped at the stop sign at the end of 84th Avenue getting ready to turn on to Etowah Road still about 15 minutes from home I put my car in park and turned on my hazards in case anyone comes up behind me I began to pray and worship while listening to some of my favorite worship music and soaking in everything we had just talked about in bible study.
While Worshiping I started thinking about how beautiful worship, prayer, and relationship with God are. Everyone has a different way to pray, a different way to worship, and every relationship with God is so beautiful and different.
I think a lot of people that look at Christianity from the outside just see us repeating the same prayers, raising our hands to the slow songs in church, which isn’t true.
Watching people worship and pray is literally my favorite thing because everyone feels God in a different way, I rock back and forth while praying and stomp and wave my hands when worshipping.
I’ve seen people run up and down church aisles while worshipping, people fall face down while praying and dance like crazy people during worship when God totally sets them free. I’ve watched people get out of wheelchairs and walk back to their bunk at youth camp after someone laid hands on them.
And every one of those praying positions and worship dances are so so beautiful.
The most beautiful part about it, I think is when someone walks Into a room and you can feel how strong their spirit is from how strong their worship and prayer life is.
Prayer brings you closer to God and that closeness to God brings you into relationship with Him which is the most beautiful relationship you’ll ever have, when you have a relationship with Him you always have a friend to talk to, you’ll have someone guiding you even you think you don’t need it, you’ll have someone cheering for you when you think no one else is, and you might not be able to physically cry on His shoulders but trust me, He is there for you.
If you seek His will in all you do (proverbs 3:6) He will show up in you life constantly.
