I got this tattoo a long time ago now. It reads “The best adventures in life are hidden on the other side of fear.” I lived my life for a long time in fear. Scared to try new new things. Scared to make big decisions. Scared to say what I was really thinking. Scared to live a life that some people would not understand. So I got a permanent reminder, that fear is
temporary. Fear was not going to keep holding me back. Since then I have done so many things I am scared of.
1) Scared of the unknown. So I left to travel the world. I have been to 11 different countries. By the time I get home I would have traveled to 12.
2)Scared to talk to people about Jesus. Now I walk up to complete strangers and pray with them talk to them, and love on them.
3)Scared of heights. I have been cliff jumping several times. Paragliding and plan on Skydiving ASAP.
4)Scared of what my future might hold. I still don’t know what is next but I know what ever it is, God has a plan bigger and better than I can even dream of.
5)Scared to be vulnerable. I have told my story so many times. The hard things and the funny things. People actually know me now.
6)Scared to be rejected. I have been rejected over and over again trying to pray for people. Every time it happens I leave feeling proud of myself. I was obedient and the seeds have been planted even if they did not want to talk.
7)Scared to love people. I have loved people who have not loved me back. Each time I learned it was not me but the hurt in them that lashed out at me.
Fear was ruling my life. So I did something about it. I faced my fears. I will continue to face my fears. Life is to short to live in a state of “what if” or “I can’t.” Everything I have overcome I look back at it now and realize the fear was unfounded. There was a freedom I felt every time I overcame something I was scared of! God say in the Bible “Do not be afraid” around 365 times. That is one for every day of the year!! If you are afraid know that God did not put that spirit in you. It is not from him. You are meant to live FREE! So start with one thing at the time make a list of some things you are afraid to do. And each day check one off.
Deuteronomy 31:8 “He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”
God is saying this to you. It is not just some word’s written in a book. He is speaking them to you!!
So do not live in fear! JUST LIVE!
