Journal Entry 11/11/18 7pm Thailand
Tonight we have Secret Church. We do this for all those Christians around the world who have been persecuted in the name of Jesus. We do this for those who do not have freedom to openly worship God our father. We do this for those who can only go to Church in secret. We do this to honor all those that have died and for those that will die because they proclaim the name of Jesus and take him to be there savior.
The mood in the room is somber, yet excited! We only whisper to each other so they will not hear us talking from outside. To enter the Secret Church you must memorize the scripture sent earlier that day. This is for our protection to keep us safe from being caught. Even talking about Jesus could get us jailed, killed, beaten, or our children taken from us.
The room is only lit by candle light, the dim light illuminates the faces of the other followers here. Some seem excited to be in good company others seem I little apprehensive. Eyes darting back and forth to loved ones we have around us for reassurance. The air is stale and musky has sweat pours down the foreheads of those in attendance. We have no windows open in fear of being herd. We keep only candle light so as not to be suspicious to the outside world. Tonight if only for a little while we will praise His Holy Name. We will speak of his good deeds aloud. We will pray for one another aloud. We will stay for hours and hours worshiping together. For once we leave we shall again be oppressed, denied the freedom to share the good news or to proclaim our faith. If we dare share, it could be the death of us. Many of our brothers and sisters have already lost their lives for sharing the Gospel of Jesus and how he died on the cross so that we may be forgiven. Many more will still die for meeting as we do hear tonight in the Secret Church.
This is the reality for thousands of Christians around the world today. Many are being persecuted, and murdered for there faith. Please remember how blessed you are to be able to worship, and pray, and tell people around you about your faith. There are thousands of people hiding in these Secret Churches all over the world right now wishing they could tell someone about the God they serve the one true God!
Hebrews 13:3 Remember those in prison, as if you where there your self. Remember also those being mistreated, as if you felt there pain in your own bodies.
