I just got to wifi for the first time in a few days; I wrote this journal entry in South Africa on New Year’s Eve.
We are wrapping up 2018 with a night in South Africa. It’s no surprise The Lord has had this up his sleeve for a while. Hot showers. Real beds. The whole squad is back together. An authentic South African meal. It’s a darn good ending to a great month.
Today we thank The Lord for safe travel. Hospitality. Another month on the World Race. We are praising Him for having us here. Exactly who we are and exactly how we are.
We use this moment of gratitude to look back at a year filled with his spirit. We look forward to 2019 with BRIGHT EYES! Full of faith, full of hope, full of expectancy.
We sit, ready to experience more of his fullness.
We sit in rest to recognize where our strength comes from.
We rest to be filled back up to repeat the beautiful cycle of pouring out his love again.
We ask and eagerly await hearing from the Lord. What do you want the year to be about Lord? We read His word to match what he is saying with what he has already said. And when he speaks, when He calls we don’t hesitate to respond with a willing heart.
Here we are God, send us, use us, until we are empty and pour, let us be your vessels.
We examine the life of Christ compared to our own and ask God how He is asking us to change and become more like Him.
Lord, we simply ask (and expect) you to do big things this year. May the things we see look more like the kingdom. May the things we say sound more like you. May the way we act look more like you.
It may be a new year, but you’ve been holding it all along.
