On the World Race, we are in a group known as a “squad” which we travel month to month to each country together, but once we arrive into that country we are broken up into teams of 6/7 people and spread out to different cities within each country.
On my team, Schon Con, our creative story teller leader (@BonBon) gave us a prompt for this blog, to write about 5 women from our squad whose names we each drew out of a hat!
Without further-ado, I’d like to introduce you to the 5 women on my squad who I have the honor to describe to you!
Kaitlin:
She’s not just any ordinary squad mate, no. She’s actually a raised up squad leader! She once started out as one of us but then was requested to be one of three amazing people who lead our squad now! This woman is full of grace and kindness. The gentleness in her voice soothes the room and at the same time the fire she brings when she preaches/teaches blows the room away!
The Bible verse I’d use to describe her is Colossians 3:12 “Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience” because she exemplifies each of these characteristics in her everyday life.
Karlie:
My dear friend. She is full of passion and zeal. Her thirst for adventure is incredible, but her thirst for more of Jesus is breathtaking. Her hunger for the Lord never ceases and she is always quick to obey the promptings of the Holy Spirit no matter how crazy they may be!
The Bible verse I’d use to describe her is Colossians 4:5 “Be wise in the way you act toward outsider; make the most of every opportunity.” I say this because she always has her eyes peeled to what the Lord is doing and where he may be leading her! She never wants to miss a moment of a possible work of God and is certain to make the most of every second of every day!
Praise:
Wow am I lucky to know a women as amazing as her. She is the listening ear everyone needs, and the kind heart who’s so caring towards others. She’s one of those people who doesn’t realize just how great she is and always denies it if you tell her! The words of wisdom she speaks over you is amazing and always exactly what you need to hear. She listens intently to every word you say and doesn’t listen to respond but she listens to hear you. She has a beautiful way of lifting you up and making everyone feel seen and heard. She’s also the funniest person I know and can make anyone laugh!
The Bible verse I’d use to describe her is James 3:17 “But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.” Because when she speaks her words produce this kind of fruit in other’s lives, and the words she speaks are full of wisdom that is found only in heaven.
Brooklyn:
When I think of this woman, I think strength. She blows me always with the strength, tenacity and grit that she carries, but coupled with that she carries such deep compassion and kindness towards others. She is full of grace and wisdom. If you go to her with something you’re struggling she points you straight to the source of where she finds her strength which is the Lord. I’m inspired by this woman to see the way she carries herself with such dignity and treats others in the same way. I’m confident that no matter what she went through, her character would be unwavering because of the strength it has, and if it did happen to change, it would only be stronger than before.
The Bible verse I’d use to describe her is Proverbs 31:25 “She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.” I think this verse perfectly describes this woman regarding her strength and trust in the Lord, coupled with the beauty and grace she carries.
Hailey:
Well, I’m quite blessed to speak about this girl. I’ve been lucky enough to have her on both of my teams so far on this race, and let me just tell you, the race would not be the same without her! The way she lives her life and always seeking others blows me away. Ever since training camp I knew I could learn from her. She carries herself with so much grace and spreads it around like candy to everyone. Her gentleness is evident to all, and she speaks so kindly to everyone no matter what. Her love for God is so clear by the way she loves others. She has a way of making everyone feel like they belong and she is so prudent to speak the things the Spirit is telling her to speak. I have gotten to learn from her everyday on the race in the ways she carries herself with humility, gentleness, kindness and love towards herself and others. She knows her own worth- found only in the father- and treats everyone else with the same amount of worth she knows they have too.
The Bible verse I’d use to describe her is Ephesians 4:2 “Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love,” because this is exactly who she is.
As the rest of my team finishes their blogs, I will tag their links below so you can read about the rest of the wonderful women I get to travel the world with!
