It’s June 4th and I am currently at training camp for The World Race. I decided to come a few days early and take part in the story teller workshop. Over the course of two days we’ve been learning how to blog, edit videos and how to attract people to engage in our posts. For one of the assignments we had to partner up with a teammate and either post a blog or make a video. My partner, Aubrey Biddle and I decided to do a blog post and ask each other five questions that reflect our World Race intentions. Aubrey and I have very similar answers to our questions and you can check out my answers on her blog aubreybiddle.theworldrace.org
- Why are you going on The World Race? “I want to grow closer to God and tell everyone what I encounter about him and his love. In the environment we’re in, it will be difficult with everything we’re exposed to but with God’s love we can handle anything. It will also teach us to focus more on the important things and less on the less important things.”
- How did you make the decision to go on The World Race? “I heard about The World Race in high school from a friend and always loved the idea of it. Fast forward to college and I never really thought about it until junior year when I wanted to take classes for a minor in law and graduate early. When that didn’t work out God put The World Race back into my heart and I know I had to go.”
- What do you want to get from this experience? “I want to become stronger and grow as a person. I want to step out of my comfort zone and really change my mindset on the world. To focus on the things that really matter.”
- What are you scared of? “I’m scared of being apart from my family and friends for such a long period of time. I’m missing big things that are happening in their lives like my cousin who is having a baby. I’ve struggled with being vulnerable and getting really deep with people.”
- What are you excited for? “I’m excited for the adventure, getting closed to my team and developing friendships. I’m excited to tell people about Jesus and everything he can do.”
