Yes. When you’re having fun.
Time also flies when you’re in transition. Morning turnarounds, prepping for a formal event, and shifting gears from one chapter to the next all fall under this umbrella. Too much to do, barely enough time.
As I frantically wrap out coursework, kick final projects into gear, and prepare for training camp in 3 weeks (what?!), it‘s easy to get lost in what’s right in front of me. It’s difficult to step back, take a 5-minute walk, to pray, to engage authentically with my floor mates in the few moments of respite when I’m cooking or on my way to bed.
Big Picture: I get to serve God for a year. I get to engage with the Word, a strong community of His people, and know people from all walks of life who know this same God. Wow.
Back to Earth: My life is busy right now. Everyone’s will be at some point, and mine will be again. I would put money on that if I could. It’s important in these busy and stressful times to continue to lean on God. A quick prayer of gratitude as you fall asleep. An admiration of Creation during your walk to class/work instead of listening to music. Writing a blog post instead of working on your Finite Element Analysis lab (okay maybe I don’t recommend that one).
The Message: Invite God into your life in the little moments, especially during stressful and busy times. He’ll spill over into the rest at some point.
I’ll leave it at that, if I make this too much longer you’ll start to wonder how truly busy I am (that lab isn’t going to complete itself). As my launch date nears, you’ll be hearing from here a bit more. You’ll also be hearing redoubled appeals for donations—if you have any ideas let me know.
Prayer Requests: Ongoing productivity and positive interactions as I near the end of my time in my collegiate communities.
God Bless!
