Worry eats at me.

Below is a list of common things I worry about regarding the Race:

1) hmmmm $15,800?????? ok not possible

2) spending nine months away from my family and friends

3) not being able to come home for holidays

4) what if something terrible happens to my loved ones?

5) what will I do without a shower?

6) where will I be sleeping?

7) I’m a super picky eater… so what do I eat

8) wearing the same clothes over and over

9) what if I get sick?

10) what if the people on my team don’t like me

So there ya have it, my very “faithless” list. My list of worries and fears regarding this nine month journey across the globe.

These last few weeks have truly been a trying time where I have even questioned my own sanity. As I asked God to reveal His truth to me and show me that all is well and He has me no matter where I go, He revealed a scripture to me.

A scripture that will always bring me comfort:

25 “That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? 27 Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?

28 “And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, 29 yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. 30 And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?

31 “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ 32 These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. 33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

34 “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.

Matthew 6:25-34

He already knows all of our needs. I have this overwhelming peace that even when I cannot see, He goes before me and makes a way. He has already planned every detail of my entire Race and He is already moving in the hearts if those who we will reach. He has already decided what I will eat, drink, wear, etc. He has already eliminated each fear.

I pray that over the course of this journey, I will seek first the Kingdom of God and not the worries of my heart. I pray that I will allow tomorrow to worry about itself as I rest in my fathers divine plan.
