Clearly I am due for an update on what is new with me and everything going on with the World Race! For starters I just graduated from Sam Houston State University (Praise the Lord) and have moved to Round Rock work with Central Baptist of Round Rock as a Youth and Family intern! This has been quite a bit of life change within the past week, and I am still trying to process everything.
I am not going to lie, a piece of my heart was left in the city of Huntsville, specifically with my beautiful church peeps at UHBC. I had to say goodbye/ see ya later to some of the most influential, loving, selfless, brave, and Godly people I know. I didn’t want this life change. I wanted to stay in my comfortable and safe bubble for as long as I could, but the Lord didn’t call me to be comf and safe just simply to go.
So, I graduated on Saturday, May 12, started my internship on May 13 for a senior robing banquet, and then moved into my summer home with my old youth pastor, Brett or Betty, and his amazing family, Helen (his awesome wife), and the kiddos Charlie, Emma, and Clara! How’s that for a crazy 24 hours?
It has been a week, people, but it has been such a sweet change of pace! I have loved being poured into by the staff at Central, meeting new people, seeing 7th graders give their siblings a birthday blessing, seeing seniors recognize their parents, getting to come home to kiddos’ sweet smiles every day, getting advice and encouragement from Betty (my old youth pastor, ‘member) and Helen about life and preparing for the World Race, and just getting to be a part of a church that LOVES the Lord and his people well. I cannot wait to see how the Lord will use these people to help me grow in all areas and prepare for my next chapter in life, and how he is going to use me to love on the youth at Central and the people in Round Rock!
For the World Race section of my goal…I MET MY FIRST GOAL OF $5,000!! Thank you for all who gave, prayed, and encouraged me these past few months! I couldn’t do this trip without y’alls partnership! I still have roughly $14,000 to fundraise so please be praying about how you can partner with me! I will also be posting new fundraisers soon so please be on the look out!
Prayer Requests:
-Pray for boldness and peace! I am terrified for what is next and the not knowing. Also, really nervous about leaving all of my family and friends behind.
-Pray for funds to be met!
-Pray that I can get my gear in time for training camp! ( I will post a registry for training camp on the bottom of this blog if you would like to help out in that way)
-Pray for training camp (June 4-14)
-Pray for my internship and the youth group at Central, that the Lord can spark a fire in all of our hearts this summer!
