Hey friends! As you guys know, I joined a new team this month which has been so so good. The Lord really blessed us with a smooth transition and we’ve been enjoying getting to know each other on a deeper level.
With that being said, I also want you guys to know them because 1. they’re awesome and 2. you can follow their blogs/stories and shift focus to building up and praying for this team over the next 4 months. So, here’s the sweet sisters I’ll be spending the last 4 months of my race with!
First up is Alexus Peavy, aka our fearless leader and one of the kindest and most intentional people I’ve ever met.

Favorite movie: Pride & Prejudice, the 2005 version with Kierra Knightley
Favorite book of the Bible/bible character
and why: Isaiah because I love prophecy and there is SO much in that book!

What gives her life: Meditating, coffee dates with friends, movie nights with my family, and a good book!
Biggest pet peeve: When people chew with their mouth open ??
Favorite memory on the race: Teary nights with the Father in the yard at the Guatemalan base. Some of the hardest nights but some of the best nights!
Favorite country on the race: Myanmar!
Plans for after the race: I’ll be leading high schoolers to Guatemala this summer with Adventures, and then I’ll be home for a year or so, after that, girl I don’t know!
Favorite type of ministry: ATL (Ask The Lord)
If you could only tell people one thing about God what would it be?: That he desires most to know you, for you to be known and to be loved. He wants an intimate personal relationship with each of us, and it’s actually the sweetest part of life. Life with Abba Father is the most fulfilling friends.
First thing she’ll do when she gets home: Shower, order some new jeans and have my dad go to Zaxbys and get me some chicken strips! Amen

If you could only tell people one thing about God what would it be?: His faithfulness and what all that entails
First thing she wants to do when she gets home: order sweet tea from Chick-fil-A, McAllister’s, and Sonic.

Emily Shenk— aka all things art and beauty and genuine.

Favorite book of the Bible/bible character and why:
John: because it’s the gospel but it’s written in a way that is very personable and gives me a better understanding of who Jesus was.
Jesus: because he’s dope and died for my sins #myredeemer

What gives her life: Art museums, aquariums, coffee dates, nature walks, breakfast at all times of day, and playing my uke
Pet peeves: Chewing with your mouth open & talking with food in your mouth. Not knocking before you enter a space that isn’t yours. Surprises. Generalizations. Euphemisms. Meaningless conversation used to fill silence simply because you are uncomfortable with it. White lies. Secrets. And many other things.
Favorite memory on the race: I have sooo many good memories I cannot choose, I love them all equally.
My Favorite country so far on the race would probably have to be….. America. HAHA kidding, kidding. It’s a tie between Guatemala and Myanmar. I loved speaking Spanish and house visits in Guate. But I made incredible friends and had so many experiences that changed me in Myanmar.
Plans after the race: I will be a camp counselor the summer I come back from the race. In the fall I will be attending James Madison University with a major in health science and a minor (hopefully) in medical Spanish.
My fav type of ministry is ATL.
If you could tell people one thing about God what would it be?: I’d tell them about how he is a Redeemer. He makes broken, ugly things beautiful again.
First thing I want to do when I get home is to eat a Philly cheese steak baby!

Caitlyn Wade— BIG dreamer, deep friend, and my new adventure buddy !!
Hometown: Felton, CA
Favorite color: depends on the week – big fan of Earth tones all the time
Favorite movie: Top Gun
Favorite book of the Bible/Bible character and why: Luke. Everytime I read Luke I find something new. It’s the scripture that’s most alive with the character of Jesus to me, and there’s so many fun little details; like how women sponsored Jesus’ ministry & he wanted to know every person he healed.

Love language: Physical touch / words of affirmation / when people share their food with me (@kyleigh)
What brings her life: Going on adventures with good friends & music, driving in pretty places, BBQs
Pet peeves: When people limit other people or are negative
Favorite memory on the race: Paragliding in Guatemala followed by the best plate of nachos known to mankind. Plate of nachos pictured below for your enjoyment & also jealousy if we’re being honest π (also pictured is our lovely squad mate Michelle)

Plans for after the race: Home for the summer, camping with my parents, visiting friends, job? then college at Seattle Pacific University

If you could tell people only one thing about God what would it be: God gives us big dreams so He can help us achieve them
What is the first thing you want to do when you get home: Right now, showering and sleeping in a bed with clean sheets.

and why: My favorite book is Luke I love all the parables in it. It even has a few that the others don’t like my favorite parable “The Good Samaritan” and Luke just has a lot of details in it.

Favorite memory on the race: Wow there are so many but I would have to say when my team and I were in our room getting ready to go to bed and Camille walks in and says I’m going to tell you want Disney princess you are and I happened to say something that the others didn’t agree on having to do with hair color and we all started laughing at it.
Favorite country on the race: I really love all the countries we’ve been to and all of them I love for different reasons.
I really can’t choose since they all have a part of my heart.
Plans for after the race: Short term plans is to volunteer at my church and look for a job somewhere.
My long term plan is to eventually work for Operation Christmas Child

Alley McMillin— aka me ahahahah.

Favorite color: lately all shades of green but pink is also a real classic
Favorite movie: varsity blues for sure but on the race it’s been Freedom Writers

and why: Hosea the book because it’s such a sweet picture of the way the Lord pursues/romances us and Paul because homeboy is an 8 and does all the 8 things and what’s not to love about that?

What gives you life: scenic road trips with the windows down, convos about deep life questions, and being anywhere outside where there’s trees, flowers, dirt, and preferably mountains in the background
What is your biggest pet peeve: passive aggressiveness/false peace FOR SURE
Favorite memory on the race: blasting music and singing and dancing with our students in Myanmar while doing manual labor at the school
Favorite country on the race: the Lord has given me SUCH a heart for America and so deepened my love for home since being on the race so that’s for sure where my heart is. I’ve loved every country we’ve been to for different reasons though!
Plans for after the race: live at home & go to UTM to study social work and psychology. Big time dream is to open a girls group home and be a counselor for them!
Favorite type of ministry: ATL/street ministry
If you could only tell people one thing about God what would it be?: whatever all your hearts desires are for, no matter how small they are or whatever it is that you’re yearning for, the Lord knows the desires of your heart and His heart is for you to have fulfillment and abundant life.
First thing you want to do when you get home: go to zaxbys and get sliders & hug my dog and probably cry because I miss that dude so much. And see my family and friends I guess π
