Life is a gift, and the Giver is GOOD!
i’m so in awe of our Fathers open arms, relentless pursuit, and endless goodness.
I’ve been in South Africa for over a month now and, well, this blog is long overdue:) & i have so much i want to share with y’all!
Jumping right back into the chaos that is the World Race, i’ve gained a deep appreciation for how the Lord has readied my heart and how He has gone before me to prepare the way.
It took us about four days to get from Atlanta, Georgia to Jeffery’s Bay, South Africa. Buses, planes, and trains; we did it all!
(my team!!!!! refinement)
For the first month we got to stay in Jeffery’s Bay the sweetest beach town known for its surfing and welcoming community! There we were hosted by an incredible ministry called Global Leadership Academy. THEY LOVED US SO WELL!!! Every morning they would pour into us with sessions from their team, and guest speaker from their communities. The lord taught me a lot about what it looks like to lead and love out of a place of rest and overflow:)
My team was also connected with another local ministry, Beats and Books, an after school program that incorporates music lessons and a library full of books! There we got to build relationships with the kids and worship with them every day! Along with that we worked at a summer camp, planted a vegetable garden, dug a couple trenches, and varnished a floor, you know just all the things!
Now like i said, the first month on the field is always chaos. In these last 7 weeks we’ve had to pack up and move over 10 times. and we’ve quickly learned to run to the Father as our comfort and seek the team as our family.
For this last month and a half my team has been moved to Johannesburg, and again i’m working with Impact Africa!!!! I can’t tell how sweet it is to be back and leading my team through this ministry and all the ways it radically stirred up my faith last year.
