Dead San Pedro,

It was not love at first sight! It took a couple hours of walking your streets seeing your sights till i grew to love you! Your lush green grass, you small country town vibe and the cows!!! the first time we came here I told me team I was going to move here and start my own farm with meat cows. (The Colombians think it’s told cold here.) The families that we have met and spent time with are absolutely amazing. There is a mom with 3 daughters who wake up at 5am every morning to pray! This mom leads with absolute confidence and strength! She is on fire for God and has passed that love down to her kids. The family that made me breakfast had 3 kids one passed away, one is in rehab and one is 3 years old. The husband works till 6am and he was awake to welcome us and help make breakfast at 9am. Again they were so in love with God, all the tragedy they have faced and they still seek God over everything else. Along the way pastor took us to families and homes without telling us backstories and asked us to speak life! Seeing the tears of pain fall away, tears of joy the long lasting hugs speaking about things in their lives we knew nothing about and later finding out what we were saying was healing, was guidance and most of all truth. I thought my heart was in Medellin turns out I was wrong it is very much in San Pedro!

Sunday was a hard goodbye, I feel so comfortable and so at home in San Pedro! The people are so patient with my “American Spanish” they give you the biggest smiles to hear you tryin to speak their language and to be honest it opened a lot of doors for us to share the gospel! When I left San Pedro I left a part of my heart as well! I definitely feel like I will be back here at some point maybe when my Spanish skills get a little better!  I just feel like it’s home! I never knew I could love ppl that I couldn’t even talk to this much! Saying goodbye to you and your ppl broke my heart many tears were cried. I left a piece of my heart in San Pedro!
