We are now at debrief in Jaco, Costa Rica. This blog was written about a week ago when we were preparing to leave Panama.
There is a song that didn’t sit well with my soul called Gracious Tempest until my friend Sarah explained her perspective of what happened to her and her background. I now have a perspective on the song as well and can relate to it better.
The chorus goes “your love is like a storm” and that didn’t sit well with me because storms destroy things. Major storms are devastating to people look at Hurricanes and tornados they leave areas devastated. I don’t like to associate Gods love with that devastation but I have also realized the beauty in that type of devastation is how resilient people can be.
I am not saying that I am devastated to be here in Panama. I am saying that God has surrounded me with people who love me through my mess and difficulties. I am saying that people love me well and value me 100%. These people are fighting for me and love me so much and go out on a limb to make me feel safe. This group of people want the very best for me and will do whatever they can to make sure I feel safe and valued. Along with that they are not afraid to call me out and point me higher and will fight for that with me and encourage me in those areas of my life. I want to change and grow and I believe this team is perfect for that growth to happen. They have taught me that God’s love is a storm and to embrace it with everything I have.
Please continue to lift the Panama up in your prayers as we start to prepare to leave for Costa Rica. Please pray for Danny and Heather as we have introduced the concept of Feedback to them (more on the concept of Feedback to come in a later blog). Please continue to lift the village of Oma up because God is doing a mighty work there. Continue to give praise to God for the funding I have received to this point as it is him who has provided nearly $13,000 to me thus far and it has been such a blessing to me to receive those gifts of support so I thank you for believing in me thus far and I hope you continue to see the impact I am having on the World and the impact the World is having on me.
