In South Africa, my team (Sarah and one of the interns) and I got to witness to a training sangoma (witch doctor) named Sarah. She only had one month of training before she became one. We talked with her and got to know about her and her story and her life dealing with demonic entities. She said her grandmother was a sangoma, but she never actually met her because she died when she was too young to remember. She said she was sick a lot before she started training to be a sangoma, and she said that once she started training to be one, the sicknesses went away. We asked her how she found the place she was staying with the sangomas, and she said her ancestors brought her there. You could tell she didn’t want to be a sangoma and that she’s doing it out of fear of getting sick again. We shared the Gospel with her, and I shared Ecclesiastes 9: 5-6, which says, “For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing, they have no further reward, and even their name is forgotten. Their love, their hate, and their jealousy have long since vanished; never again will they have a part in anything that happens under the sun.” I got to explain to her that her ancestors aren’t doing anything and that the spirits tormenting her are from Satan. She is very interested in following Jesus but doesn’t want to give up praying to he ancestors because of her fear. She didn’t accept Christ that day, but I’m so thankful for the opportunity to share with her and I know the Lord will continue to grow the seed that was planted!!
I’m thankful for the time I’ve had on the Race so far! I have 24 days to raise $1,595 to stay on this journey. Will you consider partnering with me? Thank you all so much for all you have given! I am beyond grateful
This is Sarah by the way!
