Oh the things I have seen on the World Race journey thus far. These relationships that have already been built, the way my worries have been taken care of one at a time, the way God has simply taken over is amazing to see. And to think, I have 6 months until I leave and then 11 months all over the world. The miracles will just keep coming and coming and if this is what life is supposed to be like every day, I don’t ever want to turn back.

Half way is a common theme for me right now. I am now at the half way mark of my decision to join the World Race and when I leave. I am also celebrating the fact that I am half way funded as well. I want to thank each of you that have played a part in my journey so far and I’m excited to spread your love to others across the world. Before I know it, I will be half way done with the race. I want to soak up every moment of this journey the Lord put on my heart and make sure I bring you all with me through the good and bad. In order to soak up every moment of this journey, I have really had to change to a day by day focus. There have been moments where I’ve focused so hard on leaving for this trip that I have forgotten about the NOW; the finished product instead of the half way moments.

What happens when you run into struggles? Help eventually shows up. I recently had the opportunity to meet Erwin McManus. Erwin is an author, self-proclaimed futurist, self-proclaimed filmmaker, and self-proclaimed designer. He is the lead pastor of Mosaic, a church in Los Angeles, California and has been a great example to many of what it looks like to minister all over the world. I read an amazing book of his called The Last Arrow. I flipped the book over and what I read changed me forever. I knew I needed to read it through.

“Before You Die, Live the Life You Were Born To Live.

When you come to the end of your days, you will not measure your life based on success and failures. All of those will eventually blur together into a single memory called ‘life.’

What will give you solace is a life with nothing left undone. One that’s been lived with relentless ambition, a heart on fire, and with no regrets.

On the other hand, what will haunt you until your final breath is who you could have been but never became and what you could have done but never did.

The Last Arrow is your roadmap to a life that defies odds and alters destinies. Discover the attributes of those who break the gravitational pull of mediocrity as cultural pioneer and thought leader Erwin McManus examines the characteristics of individuals who risked everything for a life they could only imagine. Imagine living the life you were convinced was only a dream.

We all begin this life with a quiver full of arrows.

Now the choice is yours. Will you cling to your arrows or risk them all, opting to live until you have nothing left to give?

Time is short. Pick up The Last Arrow and begin the greatest quest of your life.”

This book gave me a new outlook on life and gave me more peace about the journey I am about to embark on. Worrying about the future and giving up everything I have worked for is such a small-minded thought. All of us need people in our lives who refuse to leave us behind. I want to be that person for you because of what you’ve done for me with fundraising/prayers/sharing my story. I want you to read my blogs, see my pictures, see my videos, facetime me while I am gone, and think that this was all possible because of you. The love you shared with me, I get to share with a child with no family, a crippled person awaiting help to eat, or a young girl struggling with a past of being trafficked for her body. It will be your arms that the child will jump into, your hands that will be feeding the homeless, and your eyes that will be able to cry with that young girl. Let’s do this together. Grab this book and take a read. We can change the world together, one person at a time.

“I do not want to watch God work from a distance. Neither do I want to hear the amazing stories of God’s activity in the world as if they are fables made for other people in an ancient time. I want to live the kind of life that cannot be lived without the fullness of Christ in my life.” – Erwin McManus
