Last Tuesday I found out what my ministry was and what it all consisted of. I am so excited for God to work in me and preach the Gospel to the teenagers that I met. Most of you are wondering what this all involves. I will be preaching to teenagers from ages around 18-20 year olds. I had the option to preach to little kids and love on them but when my instructor put the categories of women, kids, and teenagers the one that popped up in my head was teenagers. I knew God wanted me to speak to teenagers and I was nervous to teach them. I know this is this is going to be tough for me, so I am asking for a lot of prayers and support as I am taken a step further in my faith and preaching the Word to teenagers. I am so excited for what God has in store for me and I can’t wait to see these teenagers lives be changed.
Let me tell you a little background of the teenagers and where they are coming from because most of their past are rough. Most of these teenagers are coming from refugees that came here for safety. These teenagers have been through a lot and are knocking on doors to ask families if they can live with them. When they come many of them were not allowed to bring a lot of luggage because the police would take it away from them because they didn’t want them to leave. So many of the families only have one pair of clothing that they wore over here. It is sad to see all these teenagers, women, and kids living like this. So the ministry Christ for the City International (www.cfci.org) that I am working with has the opportunity to go around the community and ask these families to come to this program so that we can love on them and spread the Gospel. This program has many opportunity’s for the kids and lets them run around in a fenced in area and lets them feel safe here.
My prayer request that I am asking for is to please pray about each and every one of these families that my team of Sisters will be working with and that their lives are touched by God. Also for most of their lives to be changed by us because of us preaching the Gospel and loving on them. Pray that God will direct us in what to say and how to preach to each and everyone of the people. Thank you for all your love, prayer and support it means a lot. Costa Rica is a beautiful place and I am so glad I have the opportunity to show others who God is.
