Hey there! So this video is a quick combination of my team & I visiting a baby home that we will be working with every Thursday while we are here. And other clips are of us walking through the Roma village we are living in.
About the baby home: I am understanding more why Jesus says above all, love deeply. On Thursdays we visit a baby home with the sole purpose of holding, loving, + playing with the babies. The babies are here for child protective services while their cases are being looked over. This is probably my favorite ministry this month, getting to just love these little nuggets. It’s so important! With lack of attention & human touch, babies can exhibit a failure to thrive. It hurts your heart to see such an innocent little baby without their parents. Not understanding why. So I’m thankful there are organizations like the one we are working with that see the need and is doing something about it. Caring & loving these babies daily, in hopes they can be returned to their parents in a safe environment or into a new family. The little girl in this photo grabbing my hand, she captured my heart. I can’t say her name for her protection but my oh my was she such a joyful well behaved baby! So sweet!
About the Roma village we are living in: When we are asked where we are staying while we are here, when we tell people , most of the time the reactions are wide eyes and comments like “ you’re staying there? It’s so dangerous. Roma’s/Gypsies are bad people. They kill, cheat, steal, etc. Roma’s are rejected by society here and they are all considered and seen as the same: not human. But my team & I in this village have experienced quite the opposite!! We are met with smiles and waves. We’ve had little kids come up and ask us our names and we played with the soccer ball with them. Bulgaria has a lot of beautiful things! I can’t help but think of Jesus & the Bible. How Jesus often spent His time with the outcasted and people society has looked down on. The “nobodies”.
“Instead, God chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And he chose things that are powerless to shame those who are powerful. God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important. As a result, no one can ever boast in the presence of God. God has united you with Christ Jesus. For our benefit God made him to be wisdom itself. Christ made us right with God; he made us pure and holy, and he freed us from sin.” ?1 Corinthians 1:27-30 NLT?
Hope you enjoy the video!
