ATL….

A- ask

T- the

L- lord

Hmmm…

Thats how I thought about that when I heard it and they said we were going out and doing it for our ministry.

This kind of asking the lord means my team and I get together and just sit for about 30 seconds to a minute for who he wants us to talk to. My team then gets visions, words, and colors from the Lord and we all just say what we are getting and then go from there.

Sounds crazy right? I thought so to at first until we did it and now I absolutely love it. Everyone has different gifts from God (1 Corinthians 12: 7-11) that he has given us to use for his glory and so we all get different things but come together as one because that is how he made us to work, in a community living out what we hear from him.

Doing this you have to have full dependance on the Lord and where he is leading you and trusting that we will find that one person each time.

The very first day we went out, some of the words people got were healing, pencil, yellow, blue, and the sence of going into someones house.

So we went out and were first led to a family in a shop and this lady had three kids, all with some sort of sickness and her with a ton of stress and pressure in her body. We prayed over her and the kids and she said she immediatly felt a peace in her and the one girl that could speak said her throat felt better. We then kept going and were led to a washing place in town where many woman were doing laundry and we stopped to say hi and to talk to them and eventually asked them if we could pray for them. There were 4 woman and a couple seemed hesitant but one of them got eager and she let us pray for her stomach pain, we prayed over her and her pain went away. Jesus is healing these people!! Another woman there saw this and then wanted us to come pray over her children and her so we did. We also got to pray for one more lady there and it was amazing. Healing was happening and their hunger to be healed and Jesus being there was amazing. We then were led to our last house that day to find two woman that had bad left leg problems. They both loved the lord and eagerly invited us in to talk and pray. My leader heard the number 4 as we started to pray so we prayed 4 times for these ladies. After praying the one lady wobbling on crutches could then easily stand up and move her leg more, bruising went down immensely and they were so happy. They then wanted to know when we could come back and they wanted to take us to people they knew around town to pray for them. Wow. Jesus literally led us to an open door to help people, just to open another door to help many others that may have been harder to get to.

I wasn’t raised seeing this kind of stuff or even knowing that Jesus still in this day did this. Sure in the Bible it happens but in America I think most people just don’t care. Jesus is still alive and living. He is still healing people. He is wanting more and more disciples to step up and partner with him so he can work through them. This, this is what we were made for.

We later that week had a lady walk up to us asking us to heal her arm because the people in the town were talking about what Jesus was doing. Her arm wasn’t healed in that moment but her hunger for that I believe can and will get her healing on the Lords time.

It is only week two in ministry and we are learning so much about the people, about Jesus and about ourselves.

My favorite thing that I have learned is that Jesus likes specific prayers. He loves us asking for what we want and what we need. We were read a scripture were Jesus was walking out of a town and two blind men came up to him and were saying “help me, help me” Jesus then looked at them knowing they were blind and said “what do you want” and they said to be healed, and he healed them. To me that is crazy to think about because I always thought, “well God can read my brain he knows what I need”. But it’s not about that, he does know but he wants us to ask. He wants an intimate close relationship with us.

So I am starting to learn to pray more powerfully, and just more into what is happening and what I need and others need around me. He wants to heal, he wants to love us and he wants to use us to do his ministry. Wake up and choose to be his disciple, no matter what your plans are for the day because I guarantee that His are better, maybe uncomfortable but Im learning to love uncomfortable.

So my challenge to you is to wake up every morning and ask the lord. Ask him who you need to reach today, maybe that is just to give someone a hug or make someone you live or work with coffee or do something silly to make someone smile. Whatever it is I challenge you to say “YES” to Jesus and he will be faithful in return. That is what I am doing here in Guatemala- it is not always easy to hear what he is saying but I am trying so hard and you should too because it is fun(:

Gods Love to you,

Sydney
