i’m in india!! i have about a month and a half left here!! which also means only a month and half till guatemala. which also also means im 4 months away from being home. what……..!

so here is a little low down of whats been going down here in india :::

we’re squad living these 2 months and living in a dormatory at a semniary college. so we’re around college students and it feels like i’m in college a little bit. it’s a lot of fun. bunking with 5 girls and hiking up to the Meal Tent for devotionals and meals together every day (sometimes even running when were late) has made me feel “normal”. let me explain that word a bit — “normal” in a way of im 18 years old and not in college at the moment even though society says i should be and right now im living in a college dorm so basically im in college right?

being here i’m surrounded by tons of nature. “prayer mountain” (literally a trek up where cabins are placed for you and the Lord to just wrestle and be together), along with hills, tons of flowers, butterflies, and big trees. nature wasnt very visible in nepal except for trekking and ive got to say its been a joy being in nature again.

our ministry looks differently daily and weekly. recently, we’ve been painting, going to different VBSs, and handing out uniforms for school starting in february. our ministry may not be that consistent but the community we are living in is something ive never seen before.

the village / community we are living in are all christians. churches line different streets. warm smiles and genuine hellos as we pass the people here. its unlike any other. the atmosphere feels light, safe and filled with complete joy. back home, this is how i feel at church. and its so cool because there are churches all around us but even without stepping foot in the actual church building itself the community here in india is the church. building up with encouagement, asking for you to come in for tea, taking time out of busy schedules to check in on friends, leading others around them to christ by calling eachother higher.

today i was talking with my friend moonpie, she said something really cool — “here people dont ask if they can come over or if they can have tea. people come to my house without warning and we catch up, see how eachother is doing, and i give them tea because thats just how this community is”

im all here for intentional casual conversations that lead into loving eachother because of the Lord. a month and a half left here and im thinking im going to want more. learning to sieze every moment and every day !!!!!!!
