welcome to life here in swaziland!!!!

i thought I’d give you guys a first hand look at what life looks like on a daily basis. (even though I’ve been living life here for about 2 and a half months!!!)

this is my routine from tuesday — friday!!!

from our compound in the morning to the bus ride to ministry to serving food to playing and meeting my kids to then back to our compound !! this has been my life for 3 months !!! routine is good but life here can change within .2 seconds. the van could get a flat tire, our shepherd might not be there, or it can rain buckets of water and the ministry that day will be completely different.

but here’s the normal day :::

i wake up around 7 am sweating in a bunk room filled with 19 other girls, because let’s be honest 19 girls in one room is never quiet in the morning. i make my Risco instant coffee and have some quiet time with Jesus before everyone else comes in for devos at 8:30 am. after devos, we eat hard boiled eggs and jungle oats oatmeal (legit everyday not exaggerating). we walk down to the Anchor Center playground where we get picked up around 10 am (we used to walk an hour to ministry the first 2 months but it started getting reallllllllllllly hot so we couldn’t walk anymore) after our 10 minute drive to ministry, we start to help our gogo with food for the day — rice and beans. the preschool gets out soon after and we get to play with them on our brand new playground. we pray “God bless our food in Jesus name, amen” and then they go on to pray in Siswati. we sing baby shark and then hand out their bowls. we eat lunch — peanut butter and jelly. around 1pm we go back out and the primary school kids start getting there. we hang out on the play ground asking them about what they learned in school or how their day was. more kids start coming in and we teach the kids a bible story. we play soccer, scoop food for the older kids, or keeping hanging out with our kids. we get picked up around 4pm. once we’re back, we get to relax before dinner and announcements at 5. dinner is made by 2 amazing swazi women — faith and dolly. rice or pop, meat, and some type of veggie is what we normally eat. we have team time after and it looks like either AIM related things or just intentional time with one another. cinnamon toast, hot chocolate, and popcorn are always cooking in the kitchen at night. movies are played, trash fires are lit, or music is being played until bed time.

and we do it all over again the next day.
