When you are younger you always get asked, What you want to do when you grow up? You try and think of the coolest job, biggest adventures, or even famous jobs that you could have. For some reason kids always think that it has to be a job when they ask you “what do you want to be when you grow up!”
Well, it doesn’t have to be a job, it can be anything you want to dream for. I think that you can answer that question with a lot of responses. You can pick a job (actor, singer, firefighter, police officer, etc) or you can say “I want to be a person that loves the Lord, teaches others about him and show people that God can make you happy and feel loved.” or you can say, “I want to just live through God, and live life with a purpose.”
I think people should ask that question not to see what the kid wants as a job when they get older, but to see what purpose they see themselves having when they get older. If they knew the bigger concept in life, other than just figuring out what job they want, then maybe we can help them with how to grow towards that. Everybody knows that they will have a job, but will they know that they have a lifetime career, a purpose? See when I was a kid and people asked me that question i’ve always said I wanted to be a vet, but i never knew that I had a bigger purpose in life that can lead me to something else, just like I didn’t know that i wanted to travel the world and teach the lost about about God, show kids that there is a God and he can help you with anything. I never knew that mission was truly an option until God showed me my purpose. God has a calling, a purpose, for each of our lives and I want to help other find theirs.
