What a sweet and precious time it’s been in Japan! I reunited with my Japanese host family yesterday, with some of whom I haven’t seen in over thirteen years! I was also so wonderfully surprised by the visit of my dear guitar prodigy sister who my family had hosted in Seattle about fourteen years ago! The Lord reminded me before falling asleep last night that a song I had sung during car rides thirteen years ago with my Japanese host brother in his language was called “Hana,” meaning “flower,” about the beauty but also brevity of life and relationships, just as the Lord had laid Isaiah 40:8 on my heart a few days ago in the form of a bookmark. “The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever”
(Isaiah 40:8). It reminded me of the importance and urgency of sharing Jesus, especially in reflection of the precious relationships we’ve formed! As if His voice was not clear enough through that correlation, after I had been learning that song on the guitar this morning – the Lord set in my path during my walk, a flower shop that also sold guitars!!! Not only was His message and all the symbolism reiterated, but I also got to pick up the guitar picks I needed, one of which the store owner gifted me with!! THE LORD!
“Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart” (Psalm 37:4).
