I have been thriving on the World Race. I don’t think I’ve ever been so affirmed to be just so unabashedly myself. “I’m just excited to see you being you,” was something that one of my sisters in Christ told me. Identity, what a lofty term to toss around. I’m a child of God. I’m a daughter of God. I’m a divine imager of the creator. What does that mean? It’s being comfortable in my own skin and acting within the parameters that God gave me for maximum flourishing in and for his creation. We were birthed into a fallen world but God sent His son Jesus to be the first fruit of the redemption and restoration of the world. Through Him, we are reborn to be new creations and to be creatives and artisans, co-laborers for His glory, to cultivate the garden. During this lifetime, we will gradually traverse the road of sanctification, then there will be glorification and a full redemption of our bodies on the day we see Him face to face. It is acting as divine imagers of the ultimate creator during this lifetime and having the willingness to express creativity in loving on others, making the most out of and squeezing all artistic juices out without fear of judgment. It is reaching out to those who you would have to go out of your way to reach out to and be willing to express what you think God has in store for them.
