The amount of gratitude I feel to have the opportunity to come on the race & experience other cultures in ways I have only read about in textbooks or seen on the television is more than I could ever express in words. To be able to see things with my own eyes, meet people who were once statistics, and live a more simply lifestyle.

I am eternally grateful for everyone who has helped me get here, currently sitting on the couch in our compound in Guatemala. The kitchen is especially poppin’ and everyone is especially happy today preparing for our Christmas Eve desert party tonight + getting excited to look as good as a racer can for our church service. It is in these little moments that I sit back and think “wow, I can’t believe I am right where I am right now with these exact people!!” The little moments of last minute movie marathons, spontaneous worship, water coloring notes for people, and sometimes simply looking around during a meal and just feeling nothing but happiness, love and GRATITUDE for the community I have had the privilege to be apart of.

It literally blows my mind that this season of my life is solely dedicated to building community, practicing healthy communication, learning more about myself and the world, and spreading the good news of the Gospel!!

Although this Christmas will be different, that does not mean it will be bad. I am so so so blessed to have the opportunity to spend this Christmas with my squad. I miss my family dearly but these once strangers have turned into my brothers and sisters!!!!

To wrap this up so you can get back to your holiday festivities, I AM SO GRATEFUL to be where I am, right now, in this exact moment in time. I currently have $2,580 left to fundraise and that would be the most rad Christmas gift of all! I can’t express how much gratitude and appreciation I have for each and every supporter who helped me get to this couch in Guatemala. I love you all so much and I hope you have the merriest and brightest Christmas ever!<3

(Eat some pecan pie for me-well any flavor really.)
