Yesterday brought a whirlwind of emotions that ultimately just led back to the Lord’s goodness, joy and peace in those hard things.

After a lot of hardwork our incredible leaders at Adventures in Missions decided to bring all of their squads currently on the field home. All of our trips have been cut short on the international scale but God’s got something big in the works. My team and I cried, edified one another, and worshipped after I broke the news that we are coming home. I am so grateful to be under authority that is so clearly appointed by the Lord and submitted to Him and His plan. Praise God!

Coming home opened space for my team to stay at our AIM base here in Guatemala. Our time here, although short, is nothing but a blessing and provision from the Lord. The AIM staff here are so kind, loving and comforting. They have poured into us even in just the couple of hours we have been here.

I want to remember this really powerful moment.

Kevin, one of the base elders, shared with us how he is thankful that his base team has an overwhelming sense of just peace in what the Lord is doing and that there is something big coming around the corner.

Kevin gave an example of a country that is releasing prisoners to keep the virus from spreading. He said that a lot of he prisoners were born again believers from their time in jail. They were being given a second chance by God’s Grace during this time. He then went on to say that the team feels like God has something big coming for America.

I got a vision of when Kevin was talking of all of the missionaries flooding into North America  to come home. We are being sent. Goosebumps. Wow. This is our mission field now, home. That’s been God’s plan all along, that we get a unique opportunity to “finish” our race by ministering to the states. Our mission isn’t ”complete” just because we are no longer international. God knew the US would be in disarray, there would be confusion and hurt. We hold the answer to what we all need – God’s peace and His rest.

Mae, another base staffer, said that we have the opportunity to pour so much light into a difficult time. The things we fill ourselves with is also what we pour out. Fill yourself with the media, the new about covid 19, all of the craziness and that‘s what we are going to pour out. But we have been filled with something so different – HOPE.

We have seen ministries and missionaries pour themselves to give and serve their communities. They have given up their dreams for the plans the Lord has for them. We have seen how despite government regulation crack down, a dozen kids are well loved, safe, fed, and educated in a foster home like program. Schools are growing in size and continuing to expand to include higher grades to better serve their community. Ministries are still thriving despite missionaries canceling trips because God is still providing. We have seen someone’s vision produce a Christian radio station in a town that has never heard worship music on the radio. We have also seen how one man’s obedience to the Lord calling him home produced healing in the police community, an abundance of food for children who are malnourished (we are talking about how Jesus fed 5,000 people with a handful of fish and bread type of miracle), and children in school getting to learn English and the gospel. Because he decided to follow God when He told him to leave America to come back to Guatemala the Lord used his yes to give a new generation the opportunity to know His voice and plan for their life.

Yeah, so that’s the goodness of the Lord that I’m choosing to walk in daily. My heart has so much peace with God‘s even though it’s changed mine. Like wow. There is hope. And we get to share that. There is so much going on in the World that is GOOD.  The Lord is working out His plan for our good.
