Life doesn’t happen inside of your comfort zone.
Okay… so maybe it does. But are you truly living if you’re not challenging yourself to constantly grow and move your comfort zone a little further out? Regardless of the step you take, big or small, it’s a big deal when you’re outside of your comfort zone.
So here I am, just a few days away from launch and having to take another step outside of my comfort zone. (Like let’s be honest here, the whole bathroom situation is freaking me out…. I like my Americanized bathrooms… toilet paper and all. So this is a huge deal for me to no longer have these comforts.) (back to being serious:)
Let me tell you something – THE FEELS ARE REAL – like every possible feeling/ emotion have gone through my body in the last couple of weeks. I literally feel like a crazy person. (Overwhelmed is an understatement). But the beautiful thing about that is no matter how crazy it gets, how different I feel, or what’s changing , God is good and He has placed ppl in my life to help me through this in one way or another.
Taking this leap (easily one of the hardest things I’ve done) is not easy. To any future racers reading this: it’s difficult. They realllyyyyy don’t lie when they say the 6 weeks between training camp and launch is extremely challenging. Things get very real. You will get overwhelmed and have feelings you’re not prepared to handle. But here’s some advice. Press into God and into the ppl He has placed in your life – COUGH COUGH ESPECIALLY YOUR SQUAD!!- they’ve got your back and know exactly what you feel like. No one on the squad thrives when you handle tough things silently.
So wherever life takes you, dare to move outside of your comfort zone. I can’t promise you it’ll always be as easy as moving your “unassigned assigned seat” in a college lecture (lol at all of my dear friends still in college cause the real struggle comes when you’re comfy in one spot in a lecture hall and someone takes it). But it’s so worth it.
Knowing that a better, more beautiful life is on the other side of this battle of moving outside of my comfort zone, is what motivates me to do it. It’s not a known life/out come, but bettering yourself, your life, and other’s lives is worth the struggles. God blesses these hills and valleys. So I know and have no doubt that He is going to provide. But stepping outside of my comfort zone sometimes requires this “leap of faith”, “dive right in, no toe dipping” kind of energy, which requires me letting go of all control and trusting that God is going to provide in this next year. So I’m beaten and bruised but still fighting, ready for the next set of maneuvers. (I tried to insert a gif of a minion getting ready to box but it didn’t work, so if anyone knows how that works hit me up – please and thank you)
But what about you guys reading this blog. How can you be challenged to live life outside of your comfort zone?
If there is anything I can do to encourage you or pray for you in this area of your life please feel welcome to let me know. YOU ARE NOT ALONE.
Ps. I just wanted to encourage all of you who know me personally (hi mom and dad– this ones for you especially), to experience this next year in an amazingly positive way. I know it’s going to be rough at times and I will miss you guys so much, but I can’t wait to see how you all grow during this. I can’t wait to hear all about it!
