Regan, you have been home from the Race for 166 days. What are you going to do next? If I had $5 for every person that has asked me that, I would be fully funded for what I am doing next. But that’s not the point.
I got home from the Race on June 23, 2019. However, towards the end of my Race, I felt the Lord tell me to seek a season of solitude when I got home. That was a little bit of a shock for me because I had just done this crazy thing for almost a year that had a massive focus on community. And God was asking me to walk away from it? I thought it was nuts. But I learned that I needed time to process what had happened while on the Race. I needed to take time to gather the harvest of my year. More importantly, I needed to relearn how to rely on Jesus instead of my community around me.
So that is what I have been doing. And let me tell you, Jesus is still just as great as ever and I have found so much more peace with Him in this season of processing and solitude.
I wanted to share with you a few of the things that really stuck out to me about what I learned on the Race and since I have been home:
- I am learning that humility takes a lot more action than asking.
- I am good at planning, but God is so much better at it than me.
- There are so many different ways that God can pursue your heart.
- I can still be who I am meant to be without meeting everyone else’s expectation of me.
- The desert can be a fruitful place.
- I am a house of God, a creator of home, a builder of safety and a shelter for others.
- I am allowed to rest in the fact that God is proud of me.
However the big question is, how do you figure out what to do after you spend 11 months in the overseas mission field, feeding the hungry, healing the sick, clothing the naked, and living every second sold out for your Creator? How do you keep moving in a direction closer to Him? Well, God laid a specific plan on my heart.
***!!!!***!*! CGA !*!***!!!!***
CGA is the Center for Global Action, a leadership and discipleship program through Adventures in Missions (the same organization that does the World Race). It is a program that equips followers on how to “know yourself, lead yourself, lead others”. They help develop character and the ability to lead others emotionally and spiritually while understanding one’s true identity in Christ.
Here is a short video about what CGA is all about!
Starting in January, I will spend 5 months in Gainesville, Georgia learning how to be the best person and leader in Christ I can be, because I want to be a part in raising up the next generation in the Kingdom. I was listening to a sermon by Pastor Ryan Britt a little bit ago and he said something that truly resonated with me so much that it shook my heart. He said, “When we say we’re committed to raising up one more generation in the Gospel, we’re not just talking about raising value based Americans. We’re talking about raising children whose highest allegiance is Christ and His Kingdom.” Will you help me be a part of that?
Please prayerfully consider supporting me as God uses me in Georgia through CGA, and to help me raise up the next generation!
If you have any questions about my World Race experience or CGA, text, call, Facebook, or email me! I would love to chat with you about it!
Also, I have a new blog! All my future blogs will be on this new page:
