The number one question that I was asked before I left for my trip, besides “Are you going to meet your future husband?”, was “What are you bringing and how is it going to fit in your bag?”
Well let me tell you, I had no idea. I had studied every packing blog and vlog, and was still completely lost. So, as I packed, unpacked, repacked, complained to my parents, had them help me, throw things into piles, packed, unpacked, and repacked, I kind of figured it out.
Now that I have been on the field for a little less than a month, I feel like I have a better sense of what is needed.
Here is the thing, I took these pictures before I packed everything in my pack and weighed it. So, the stuff that I thought I needed is in the pictures and the stuff I actually brought is not marked out. I am also including a list of things that I wish that I would have brought on my route as well. (Yes, I am realizing that I wish I had things and I have only been here a month.)
Not shown: Big Pack Airporter Day Pack Electronics Regular Sized Pillow Things that I wish I had brought: The clothes that I took out of my pack, especially the sleeveless shirt
More nice shirts Another pair of athletic shorts More than 4 pairs of socks Peanut Butter (you think I am kidding but I am not) More underwear Baby Wipes And… Another white shirt because mine has randomly turned completely light blue
I am still figuring out this whole packing thing because well climates are different everywhere. So, I will try and keep this updated as I go along but no promises. As for the packing, it is honestly just shoving things in packing cubes and hoping that I am below 50 pounds.
