Remember the blog I wrote, Where is your Home? If you do not remember or never read it, go check it out here. It’s a prerequisite to this blog.

City Harvest Church

Location: Singapore, Singapore

Mission: To build a church with a strong spiritual atmosphere of faith and purity,

where every member is released into ministry,

discipled in the Great Commandment

to obey the Great Commission

and the Cultural Mandate.

As I walked into City Harvest Church, it felt like a touch of home. But what does that mean? Did it feel like a touch of home because it reminded me of the United States? Did it remind me of home because it’s a big church and they sang Elevation and Bethel worship?

Maybe. But I do not think that was the touch of home I was experiencing. I think the touch of home I was experiencing was the Presence of God.

In my blog Where is your home?, I conclude that my home is in my Heavenly Father’s arms. As Christ followers, we have the Holy Spirit in our lives. And through the Holy Spirit, we are all invited to make the Heavenly Father’s arms our home.

So then when we do that, we are connected around the world by the Holy Spirit. And the Holy Spirit brings us into the Presence of God

There’s something about the Presence of God that transcends culture. When we are in the Presence of God, we connect with the people around us, even strangers, on a deeper level. Past the beautiful differences that God has given each culture, we all have this in common. We all have the Presence of God.

As I think back on my trip so far, I realize I’ve experienced this in just about every country I have been to. But I have never before credited that feeling of home to the Presence of God.

I believe as I walked into City Harvest Church, that is what I experienced. And it is so comforting to know that wherever I am in the world, I will always have that touch of home. In my Heavenly Father’s arms. In His presence.
