My Sweet Soul Sisters

Our Dear Rwandan Family

As I study these pictures, all I can think about is how much God loves me. The Lord did SO much through all of these people last month in Rwanda.

He freed me from some lifelong shame, He showed me unconditional love, He gave me a true family, He used my soul sisters to heal some of my soul, and He gave me the opportunity to live day to day life with all of them, which has left a deep impact on my life and is my favorite way to have relationships with others.

I still miss Rwanda, my Rwandan family, and my soul sisters (we switched teams) so much. But I am so immensely grateful for the chance to be a part of it all and for the way God used it to show me such an intimate love from Him.

UGANDA

We spent our first week in Uganda debriefing with our whole squad. We also changed teams, raised up new team leaders, and raised up new squad leaders.

This week my team is staying at an organization called James Place (which came out of HEAL ministries). The founders are family friends of Catie Collins’ family and the Lord has been so kind to us with the way they have provided us with a place to stay and food to eat.

This month is ATL so we are using these first few days to ask the Lord what He has for us this month in Uganda and then research that. The rest of our time this week we are serving alongside the employees of James Place.

HEAL Ministries: “Tina Weir founded HEAL Ministries in 2007 to serve orphans and widows. She continued to lead teams through Central America, Africa and several inner cities in the U.S for HEAL. In 2011, Tina felt the Lord call HEAL to focus in Uganda. This is where the Spirit of God was clearly stirring in the hearts of women and children.”

James Place Mission: “We empower & resource vulnerable, abandoned women & children in Christ centered holistic programs that teach sustainability & family preservation.” Their goal is to be totally locally run one day but already most of their employees are local Ugandans.

Prayer Requests:

  1. Please pray for the Lord’s guidance as we are asking Him what He has for us in Uganda.
  2. Pray for our first month as a new team, that we would be open with each other and depth would come quickly.
  3. Please pray for safety for our time here in Uganda.
  4. Please pray for our hearts as we will be away from home for Christmas, and please pray for our families as they will be without us.
