Sitting here at training camp, day 5, with peace and serenity about the future. God has placed every person in my life/squad in my story for such a specific reason, and these reasons are becoming so evident. Relationships made by connecting through God are so so so Good. Everyone in such similar places in life with one main goal of spreading the Good News is something that has seriously blown my mind. Right now, I’m sitting on the sidewalk in Gainesville, GA, thinking and praying about what next year has to hold. One word that is constantly spinning through my head is “yes”. I’m even wearing a bracelet that in morse code says “freaking yes”; ironically because I got this last year as a gift because I am always up to do the unexpected. The World Race is my unexpected; My road less traveled; My YES to what Jesus is calling for me to do.
Something that has constantly been on my mind is the thoughts of “this is so great for MY future” and “wow! this is going to change ME so much”. But in reality, this trip is not for me and quite frankly that is a selfish way of thinking. This World Race Gap Year is meant to spread the name of Jesus to people of ALL THE NATIONS. People that are slaves to sin and have no hope in freedom; the Good News IS their freedom! I pray that these people that I will meet and grow into relationship with, will say their “freaking yes” just like I did into accepting Jesus into their lives and relishing in what all he has to offer. FREEDOM, JOY, LIFE, SALVATION and most importantly LOVE.
I couldn’t be more excited and ready for this step in my life. 7 WEEKS PEOPLE!!!!!
