ASIANS evvverryyywhere.

To this point in my life if I ran into someone from the continent of Asia I would have took a shot in the dark and guessed they were from Korea, China, or Japan.

I really enjoyed the standard American meal from my local Chinese restaurant, the one that provided drum sticks to play with as I waited for my meals.

I’m 6ft 4in and look like I weigh as much as the three full grown men that stand in front of me (only if they happened to be standing on the scale together).

I have never felt more out of place.
Outside of Christians and the occasional atheist, I had not truly seen the views of world religions.

Now I see monks on the daily and the Buddhist influences are on many street corners.

I had true ignorance when it came to the Asian culture.

Fast forward 3 months and 5 countries…

I have now experienced 5 very different cultures in the past 90 days.

Each one distinguished in a number of ways. Language differences are just surface level at this point.

I went from learning basic greetings to understanding the underlying respect for anyone elder that is the near vicinity.

Even to becoming an assassin with chopsticks, to the point I’m confident (under the right conditions) I could eat soup with the eating utensils.

Being able to sit down and talk about the differences in religion, while taking the opportunity the share the Gospel, was my favorite part of the 3 months. Taking opportunities to share God’s Love still holds a trophy to any adventurous story.

My time in Asia has opened my eyes to more of the world than I have ever dreamed of. This world is filled to the brim with beautiful people and I can’t wait to see what God has in store next!
