okay, okay, so maybe the title of this blog is a BIT misleading, although I can say that after this past week, I can finally say, for once in my life, that I have gained some muscle. ((by some I mean I can see the slightest bit of definition in my noodle arms, although it is still invisible to the naked eye))
and that is due to the fact that I spent all of spring break kayaking over 25 miles on Lake Powell in Utah!!! I went on the trip of a L I F E T I M E with Young Life RMR Backcountry, as myself and 9 other girls camped and kayaked across the beautiful lake for 6 days. that’s right, 6 days with no shower, no toilet, and no electronics. nevertheless, it was the best trip i have ever been on. y’all, if I have ever witnessed the Lord’s artistry on this planet, it was on Lake Powell. seriously one the most beautiful places I have ever seen.
as we explored this amazing place, we embraced each other’s company each night, lunch time, and morning as we sat in our camp chairs sharing our life stories, one by one. by the end of the week, we all had one thing in common; we knew each other’s hearts, what has made us who we are, therefore bringing us as close as ever. perhaps my favorite part of the trip was right before sunrise every night when we would go out onto the beach to have our Glory Time. we would all find a quiet spot to sit and be with the Lord, as we watched the sky light up the canyons with pink, purple, and blue water colors. I always feel closest to the Lord when i am out witnessing His creation unfold before my eyes, in this case in the sky each night. whether it be the stars in the sky or the cotton candy sunsets, witnessing His masterpiece makes me feel as though I am sitting right next to the Lord as He paints me a picture, as if to demonstrate His abundant glory. this trip taught me that the Lord is always by my side, not just when I am on an amazing trip. I don’t have to witness something so miraculous or extravagant to feel His presence, I simply have to be still and listen. He is ALWAYS present, no matter where I am. the comfort of knowing this is something I hope to hold onto as I venture out into the world to serve His people. this trip was one to remember, and I will never forget the amazing adventure of spring break 2018!
today we received an email about TRAINING CAMP!!! thanks to all of the donations and support I have received so far, I am fully funded for TC! officially counting down the days till July 10th. overall, I am currently 33.08% funded at $5,226! W O W!!! so crazy to see how the Lord brings me closer and closer to being fully funded every day through His generous people.
I still have multiple fundraisers going, which include my World Race t-shirts, Threads of Hope bracelets, and personalized painted journals!
