As humans we hope. We dream big. We aspire for great things to happen in our lives.

I have hope for a lot of things:

I hope that my dad gets to come home.

I hope that one day I get to live with Chan and Val even if it’s for a short time.

I hope that I’ll get married and have kids one day.

I hope that I’ll become a teacher and make a difference in kids lives.

Hope is a term most of us probably use daily when talking about things we wish for. Hope is a desire for a certain thing to happen. When we think about hoping for something on earth we know it could not happen. It isn’t a for sure thing. We can hope for things and be let down.

B U T there is a different kind of hope that is secure. (We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. Hebrews 6:19) We have hope in Jesus. It isn’t a hope that can fail or let us down. It’s a hope that sets us free and gives us security. Security in His love, in Knowing that as soon as we trust in Jesus we have a relationship with Him eternally. We have security in knowing that our relationship with Jesus on earth is not perfect because as humans we fail and make mistakes but we KNOW FOR A FACT that one day when we die an earthly death we will get to experience true perfect life with Jesus. We get to truly experience fullness in Jesus Christ. This hope we have is the greatest thing that you can know.

At training camp we all had necklaces that said a word on them. These words were prayed for us specifically. My word was hope. Last month in Thailand I got to meet a girl named Hope that worked at the coffee shop that was attached to our hostel. I honestly thought nothing of it. But I got to hear some of her story towards the end of our time in Thailand and it was so sweet. I got to hear about how Jesus turned her life around and how her birth name wasn’t Hope. But when she accepted Jesus in her life it was the name He gave her because He wanted her to continue to share this beautiful, secure hope we have in Jesus. It was truly a blessing to see the light she spread and how much she loves people. I got to give her my necklace that says Hope. And I just pray it’s a sweet reminder of how much our Father loves her and how proud He is of her.

This is Hope (& Farrah).

Hope if you read this know I’m so grateful to have gotten to know you and to have felt loved by you. You were such a sweet blessing in Thailand. Keep telling people about the hope we have in Jesus. I love you.

Also friends anyone is invited in to have a secure hope in Jesus you just have to trust Him as your savior and ask for it.
