Yesterday I posted a Facebook live video for National Giving Day and from that, i have less than $4000 to fundraise now. Thank you so much to everyone who have been keeping me and my team in your prayers and thank you for the all the generous donations! I am currently now at $12,101 and i have $3,699 left to fundraise.
I have a story where i got to see god work the most was my team and team salt and light went to Tres Rios to walk around and prayer walk and minister to the nation.
There was a drunken man who was half naked walking in a Catholic church. He kenz, acacia, abby, and I were just originally going to walk into the church to see what it looked like but this man came up to us and asked what our name were in English. He told us that he spoke English, Spanish, and French. We told him what our names were and we asked him what his name was and he said Jesus (which later we find out that his name is johnathan) he kept asking if we were afraid of him. We kept saying no. You could definitely smell the alcohol on his body. There was a security guards in the back and i made eye contact with him and i confirmed with the man that i am not afraid. He walked to the front on the church and took off his ripped shoes, kenz and i followed him to the front not knowing what we were going to say but we were going to allow the holy spirit speak through us. As i walked to the front of the church i prayed that god would show me something that this man needs. Johnathan was able to hold a pretty good conversation with us in English all while he is drunk. Johnathan we t to his torn backpack that you could tell that he lives out of and grabs a church pamphlet and asks if we are Christian. We say yes and ask if we could pray for him and asked if he needed healing in anything and he said his teeth were in pain. So we prayed for healing in his teath, not sure if he felt healing but our conversation continued. Kenz and i make eye contact and we were able to comfirm that we received the exact same thing. We asked the man if he has a daughter. And his mood changed a bit. This man went from really happy to talk to us to saddness. He knew that we are Christians and that would pray if he would ask for it, so we prayed over the man about sadness and grieving process. He pointed to his tattoo which took up most of his arm with artwork that surrounded dates of which his daughters passed way. He kept say 6-6-6 in meaning that the devil has taken his kids. After praying over this man for healing and for his daughters, we had to leave but while i was walking out, it came to me that this man was going into churches drunk and grieving his daughters in hatred towards the church. Different churches in the area have kicked this man out because he was bringing a distraction to the people who where there to pray.
It was definitely a powerful day being bold and not being afraid of this man. I have hope in that god will bring forgiveness to this man and be able to bring him away from drinking to cover the pain.
