For a week in November, my team served at a farm. I learned a lot about agriculture, aquaponics and practical long term missions.
We were told that we had to rip off the bad leaves from the ROOT. If not done this way and a little stem is left attached, the plant will still send nutrients to that stem even though no produce is coming out of it. Therefore, if a bad leaf is just quickly ripped off without taking the time to tear it from the root, the plant acts as if the leaf wasn’t even torn off.
This month(November) has been full of learning about freedom from shame and insecurity.Shame often is rooted in a small moment from childhood. Insecurity often is rooted in simple statement from childhood.
Sin, you must remove it fully from your life.
The little stem that remains when a leaf is improperly removed is its memory, which when fed produces shame.
God wants to help take your sin from the root, so there’s no hint of it remaining. He wants to free you from its shame.
He wants to take the time to find the root of your sin. He wants to being FULL freedom and TRUE identity in your life that is secured in Him.
