Ten or two.
“The Kingdom of heaven is like a man going on a trip. He called his servants and entrusted some money to them. He gave one man ten thousand dollars, another four thousand dollars, and another two thousand dollars. Each was given money based on his ability. Then the man went on his trip.
The one who received ten thousand dollars invested the money at once and doubled his money. The one who had four thousand dollars did the same and also doubled his money. But the one who received two thousand dollars went off, dug a hole in the ground, and hid his masters money.” Matthew 25:14-18
We as imperfect people see those numbers- 10, 4, and 2. Given the two, we see others’ gifts as more valuable than our own. But God gives individually and uniquely to each and every servant. Whether given ten or two, you were still given something from the Lord. Something that is not yours to go bury and hide. It’s the Father’s. It belongs to the one who gave it to you. And it’s entrusted to you specifically to be multiplied. Ten or two, you’ve been given something that can be multiplied. If that means sharing the gospel with ten thousand or leading your own family to Christ, be gracious, grateful, and aware of the free gifts given to you.
Don’t be deceived like this servant. Don’t see what other believers are doing with their ten and forget about your two. After all, God is not going to ask you about their ten but your two. I encourage you, don’t be merely a consumer of others’ stories. Don’t downplay your gifts and miss out on the Lord’s blessings. The blessings that He put aside for you from the beginning of time. You’re important. Your gifts are important. Your voice is important. Embrace the platform God has given you and watch it multiply. I feel God has laid this on my heart for someone to hear.
