The Power of the Pair:
Recently I was listening to a message from TD Jakes and I heard something that struck me to my core. I could feel it echoing throughout my body as soon as it reached my ear drums.
“If you can show me how I fit in it, I can commit to it”
I was overtaken by a sense of guilt and also a sense of responsibility. A responsibility to share “my” vision.
He also said something that scared me ..
“You’re losing momentum because you’re flying alone.”
Now I don’t believe I’m flying alone but it was a warning that if I don’t share my vision, I could be. I could isolate myself and make this a million times harder. The Bible in its entirety is a love story. The disciples, the way the Bible refers to the body, the way God calls us His bride, and the GREAT commission all illustrate that love story. Not of one loving themselves but each other. We’re not made to walk alone. We’re social beings. We’re made to do this thing together. That’s why isolation is a punishment. I feel a responsibility to make it clear that I’m not in this alone. I’m going on behalf of not instead of. And to those staying here, where the work is equally important, you’re staying for me. It’s not an either or. As believers, as parts of the body, we work in different areas.
So my question is: Are you in the vision ?
You are the vision. Believers coming together to reach the ends of the earth is the vision. The vision isn’t Mya going on a mission trip, it’s the body sending me. It’s God anointing it. To reach EVERYONE. Here and there. God is using us all as vessels. He is using your heart and my feet to go there. When I post here, it’s not a celebration of what God did through me alone. I’m a representative of God, of people who love God, and love obeying Him.
I’m beyond excited that I’ll be leaving in 45ish (something like that) days. God is inviting you to be a part of this mission because it’s not about me, it’s about Him. It’s about reaching the people He loves. It’s about you trusting your resources to God to do His work and multiply His followers. For me, it’s about leaving my home and comfort zones to deliver His love story. It’s about obedience. It’s about following Him out onto the water. Knowing that if we’ll let Him, He will do miraculous things through us.
The power of the pair… together we can do this. Together we’re going to allow God to use us to reach the nations.
