Hey everyone, it’s past time for another life-update. This year has been a really crazy one. My team has been traveling and ministering and its been amazing the ways that we have seen the Lord show up. We have literally seen blind eyes open, deaf ears hear, and many people’s hearts turn back to the Lord. We have gotten to work with so many different kinds of ministries, from homeless and addict outreach, to food pantries, and anti- trafficking ministries to name a few. And During this season specifically, the Lord has been burdening my heart for vulnerable populations and the injustices that they continually face. All across this country and in many of the places that I have visited around the world, I have seen underprivileged communities being taken advantage of due to their lack of resources and education, among other things, and watched the church as a whole remain silent or complicit to their suffering. The Lord has also been opening doors for me to step into what it looks like to engage with communities like this in a practical and helpful way.

In January I will be moving to Knoxville, Tennessee to partner with an organization that I was able to work with this year called Raising A Voice. RAV is a ministry that serves both domestically and internationally in the fight against sex and human trafficking. During my time with them I will be joining their fellowship, which is 9 months of focused hands-on training and equipping in what it looks like to work in missions long term, start your own ministry, and fight against sex and human trafficking both in the States and overseas. I will be working alongside this ministry behind the scenes and on the front lines through both prevention to rehabilitative actions.

Sex and human trafficking is an issue that impacts all communities across the socio-economic spectrum. While some communities tend to be beneficiaries of these systems, other communities tend to be more susceptible to becoming victims of the same systems. In Knoxville, Tennessee, RAV works primarily with individuals who have fallen into what is known as ‘survival sex’. This is a form of prostitution that occurs when a woman has no other means to afford rent, groceries, or other basic necessities without the exchange of sexual favors. A not uncommon situation that a family could find themselves in is that the landlord is willing to lower the monthly rent payment in exchange for sex. This is not limited to just women, many children are also abused in this way to help their families survive. RAV works in these communities to connect families with other ministries in the area who are offering assistance. RAV also helps families and individuals meet immediate physical needs, build resumes, they provide bus passes for job interviews, assistance acquiring driver’s licenses, and other important documentation that are necessary for people to qualify for aid and insurance.

I am really excited for this opportunity to learn more about the logistics and practicality of running a ministry and for all of the ways that these next 9 months will prepare me for what I feel like the Lord is calling me into long term, which is full time involvement in ministry.

With all that being said, I will be starting to fundraise again (Surprise!). I will be working with this ministry full time and my goal is to raise about $1650 a month to cover my basic needs. Please partner with me in prayer as I prepare to step into this new season.  If you feel led to support me financially, you can do so through the RAV website HERE. All donations made through this website will be tax deductible.

I want to thank everyone who has walked this journey with me and who continues to do so. I am fully confident that the Lord is going to do great and wonderful things in this new season. If you have any questions about what I will be doing or the ministry that I will be working with, I would love to talk to you!

Much Love!

Morgan
