The Lord began working in my heart and preparing me for the World Race long before I ever learned about the program itself. Looking back its so cool to see how He has been shaping me long before I was ever ready to take this step.

As a freshman in high school I had the opportunity to travel to Honduras with an amazing group of students to serve God’s people and to meet the needs of the missionaries living there. While that was only a week long trip, God really used that time to soften my heart to the idea of international missions.

Two years later I was able to travel with a small team to Haiti, where I was able to form relationships and grow my understanding of how big our God is. I have since returned to Haiti multiple times and while I visited the same kids and the same area, God has never stopped teaching me new lessons and He has never ceased placing a passion in my heart for His people around the globe. So last year when I learned about The World Race, right away I could feel God stirring in my heart- even if I wasn’t ready to completely jump into it yet.

Trusting the Lord with your life is never easy. I knew that God was leading me to the World Race but I was not originally very accepting of that. But the Lord relentlessly pursued my heart throughout my doubting and revealed His unending love and grace to me when I needed it the most.

He never pushed me towards this decision but loving guided me and allowed me the time I needed to grow.

August of 2018 I will leave my home and my comforts to follow God around the world and to serve His people to the best of my ability.

First to the Ukraine, then to Romania, Bulgaria, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia.

I don’t know what the Lord is going to do during that time, but I do know that He is going to be there, working in my heart, and drawing me closer to Him.

 Much love,

-Morgan
