Did you have a “good” trip?

This was the most common question after our return from our PVT. It was a struggle  to answer that question.

It was great to see our Racer.

It was great to see our Racer’s  team and squad.

It was great to see animals in the game park.

It was great to meet the kids.

It was great to see a culture that values relationships and taking care of their families (1 working Swazi supporting 13 others).

It was great to serve with our Racer.

Even with all the great things, I couldn’t just answer yes. With all we witnessed in Eswatini (Swaziland),

The trip was sobering.

The needs were overwhelming.

How much can one person do?

How do I prioritize my resources?

What action do I take?

To truly be a life changing trip, the obvious requirement is our lives must change as a result of the trip. It is easy to fall into the daily routine and still have emotions for Swaziland, but no real change.  Our challenge to each other is to make it life changing, and we are still trying to work out what actions we need to take.
