Hello Mother,

As you know, we’ve just begun our week of PVT. Our leaders had all of the PVT squad-mates write their parents letters to read upon arrival here in Tbilisi, Georgia. I thought Well just cuz my mom isn’t here doesn’t mean I can’t participate in this activity too. I’m gonna send my mom an email…. and then I thought… heck, I’m just gonna write her a blog! The world deserves to know how awesome she is.

In true Megan Wisehart style, I’m going to organize this thing in an acrostic fashion 🙂

So, Molly Ann Johnson Wisehart, this one’s for you:

M: Mother of the century. The older I get, the more life experience I earn, the more mind blown I am that you raised us all by yourself. In all honesty, you did a better job raising us by yourself than most couples do combined. I know you like to dismiss any and all praise for doing such a good job with us. Your typical response to people when they commend you for being a rockstar mom is, “Oh, it wasn’t me. There’s a higher power at work here.” That’s completely true—it’s by God’s amazing grace that the 3 of us have turned out the way we have, but He’s shown us that grace through you. I honestly don’t know what would’ve happened to all of us had it not been for you. We read in the book of Job of a man who suffered greatly. In chapter 19, Job cries out, in the midst of sheer earthly turmoil, I know that my Redeemer lives. What a heavenly perspective that man had! I’ve found over the years that what most people take away from reading Job is how to suffer well. That’s a great lesson to be learned, but I think we should take things a step further. Why did Job suffer so well? Rather, how was it possible for Job to suffer so well? Because he had such a firm foundation before the crap storm hit! His faith was so strong that even when his world was turned upside down, he remained steadfast. Mom, you have that kind of faith. Life has not been easy for you. Our family has been put through the ringer multiple times. I thank God that you, the matriarch of our family, my biggest influence in life, are so deeply rooted in Christ. Thank you for showing me what it means to live a life marked by faithfulness.

A: Adorable. You’re so stinkin cute! Oh, you look just like your mom is literally the best compliment anyone can ever give me. Looks aside, you’re also totes adorbs in every other way too. While you are certainly one of the toughest people I know, I also consider you to be so compassionate and loving as well. You have an infectious personality, and whether you like it or not, you light up a room! All throughout my life, my friends have always gravitated towards you. I can remember a time or two in high school when I would come home and walk into the house to find one of my friends already there, usually sitting on the couch chatting with you. They didn’t really seem to care if I ever came home because they were there “to see Molly”. You’re just so darn loveable.

J: Jokes on jokes. You really are quite hilarious. You make me laugh on a consistent basis. Every time I get a WhatsApp voice memo notification from you, I get so excited because I know it’s going to make me laugh! Thanks for not taking life too seriously, for making a concerted effort to quote movies more (because you know it’s my number one love language), for having the most hilarious laugh, and basically just for not being a big dull dud. You are such a fun person!

W: Woman who fears the Lord. Thank you, first of all, for teaching me the importance of Scripture. Additionally, I thank you for teaching me and showing me that we are to show people Christ in how we live. I can remember a time or two when I’ve been discouraged with my failed evangelism efforts; you always say Meg, we’ve got to lead by example. You are the epitome of a Proverbs 31 woman. You live your life in a manner of excellence, the only work you know how to put in is hard work, you are a great provider for your family, you are the definition of strength, you are so very generous, you walk each and every day with such dignity, you are full of wisdom, you are kind, and you have shown me what faithfulness to the Lord really looks like every single day I’ve been on this earth. Rachel, Lindsay, and I wouldn’t be the women we are today without you.

I love you so much, Mom! You are simply the best. I miss you so much it hurts my heart, but I’ll see you before we know it 🙂

Love,
Your Diddle Meggie
