Before you read this blog, go check out Luke 10:38-42.
Today is my last day in Australia. This month has been filled with all sorts of different ministry opportunities and adventures. I’ve bonded with my team (shout out to G-POD), done yard work, played beach volleyball, turned 27, led children’s church, cooked meals, washed dishes, babysat, seen kangaroos, hiked in a rainforest, laughed a bunch, served a lot, prayed hard, and most importantly shared the Gospel and love of Jesus Christ.

I’ve learned a lot of things over this last month, but one lesson in particular seems to be sticking out to me the most: how to be a Mary. I’ve had a lot of opportunities for service this month, but I’ve also had a lot of opportunities to simply sit with Jesus. Like most people, I prefer doing stuff rather than just sitting around. I enjoy working hard and getting the job done. But you know, sometimes the Lord wants us to stop. To be still. To sit with Him. To soak in His Presence, and just be.
I have no idea how this next month of ministry will look like in terms of a day-to-day schedule. My team and I are going to be seeking the Lord’s call and going wherever He leads us. I’m certain that He will bring us to many moments where we are called to be Marthas—working really hard—but I’m also certain that there will be a lot of Mary moments as well. It’s in these moments where I want to be able to take some deep breaths, open up my Bible, and completely saturate myself at the feet of my King.
God is so good, y’all. I’m so excited for the next chapter of this crazy journey. Indonesia, here we come!
