Lately I have been getting more and more questions about The World Race and it is amazing! I specifically loved it when one of the most brilliant doctors I have ever worked with stopped me and said, “So I hear you’re going on a run around the world?” I couldn’t help but giggle a bit. I responded, “It is a mission trip called The World Race.” Dr. S giggled back and said “Oh ok, tell me more about it later.”
So here I am! In hopes of answering a few of your questions, I wrote this blog about a “run” that is actually a World Race.
Question 1: What is The World Race?
The World Race is an 11 month mission trip where I will spend a month in 11 different countries.
Question 2: How did you hear about it?
As difficult or not so difficult to understand, God placed Thailand on my mind and heart last summer. I Googled : Mission trips to Thailand. The World Race was placed at my fingertips, literally.
Question 3: When do you leave?
I will now be leaving, or as we call it “launching” in January 2019.
Question 4: By when do you have to be fully funded?
My hopes are to be fully funded before I launch, but our deadline is April 30, 2019.
Question 5: Are you nervous? Are you excited?
Honestly, there are days that I do feel nervous, but most days I feel VERY excited about leaving. The biggest reason for becoming nervous is being away from my family for so long, which I’ve heard is completely natural.
Question 6: What are you doing to raise these funds? How can I help?
I have held a few fundraisers where you are able to participate and I still have some extra t-shirts for $25 each. I have also started my Adopt A Day once again and will be posting that letter again shortly. You may also donate directly to me or my blog. Finally, prayer. I strongly believe that you must speak to be heard! Prayer works.
Question 7: What countries will you be going to?
I will be going to Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Togo, Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines, Argentina, Chile, Bolivia and Peru!! (Can you tell I’m excited?)
Question 8: What will you be doing while there?
I will be connecting with the local churches, communities, schools, and local people teaching them the word of God, teaching English and helping women and children that are victims of abuse and neglect.
Question 9: Which of these countries have you always wanted to visit?
Thailand and Peru have always been a dream of mine. However, I will not complain about going to 9 others!!
Question 10: Are you going alone?
No, I will be going with my squad! So far, I believe there 48 people on my squad. They are from all over the United States and one is here in San Antonio!
If I missed a question you’ve asked please reach out to me. I would love to grab some lunch or tea/coffee to talk about The World Race and answer those.
