100 hundred days is (more or less) the amount of time I have left on the World Race. In honor of that, here is a list of 100 things (more or less) that I love about being on the Race!

The constant push for growth

being asked, “Have you prayed about it?” when I have an issue

a whole year of sunshine

Chacos being the rule, not the exception
-
always having a person to talk to
-
having so much less stuff
-
cold showers feeling nice because it’s a billion degrees
-
making new friends every month
-
learning songs from around the world
-
children running up to you to hold your hand
-
World Race (specifically K-Squad) lingo
-
opportunities for adventure around every corner
-
discovering ways to serve the Lord around the world by experiencing them
-
communal closet
-
getting dirty is normal and expected
-
flip-flops are decent house shoes
-
having so many minds to dig into the Word with
-
my whole life revolving around ministry
-
quiet time being built into my day and expected
-
eating strange meals because you tried to make an American dish in a foreign country
-
street food
-
having so much time to focus on guitar
-
appreciating wifi and A/C
-
being challenged every day
-
All 37 members of my K-Squad Family
-
months when we walked everywhere
-
all the inside jokes
-
being called higher every day
-
low-fashion is highly-acceptable
-
literally no pressure to wear makeup

fresh exotic fruits and veggies – can you say MANGO??

having opportunities to be creative/a problem-solver every day

one of the best praise teams I’ve ever been a part of

regularly debriefing what the heck just happened in my life

squeezing way more people into vehicles than there are seats for

riding in truck beds and tuk-tuks
-
home visits to church members and random neighbors
-
being asked on the spot for a word from the Word
-
eating with my hands or with chopsticks
-
going barefoot without getting frostbite
-
feeling so cute in Chacos, skinny jeans, and a massive t-shirt
-
being able to count on one hand the amount of times I felt cold
-
having people to help me hear from the Lord
-
weekly check-ins with our mentor
-
the incredible growth that I’ve seen here and at home
-
finding American treats/tastes of home
-
learning all the different ways to eat rice
-
shopping in open air markets
-
I’ve learned how to better love and care for myself
-
I’ve learned how to better love and care of others
-
experiencing the Great Commission regularly
-
eating well on $5 a day or less
-
learning how to live minimalistically
-
worshipping with people from many tribes, nations, and tongues
-
the constant motion has taught me to appreciate settling in

discovering that Christian community and church are not always synonymous

experiencing church services in different cultures

the coffee

I’ve become ever so slightly less high-pressure-perfectionist Type A

I’m really good at packing now

picking up new practices to enhance my faith, my life, and my relationships
