100 hundred days is (more or less) the amount of time I have left on the World Race. In honor of that, here is a list of 100 things (more or less) that I love about being on the Race!

 

  1. The constant push for growth

  2. being asked, “Have you prayed about it?” when I have an issue

  3. a whole year of sunshine

  4. Chacos being the rule, not the exception

  5. always having a person to talk to

  6. having so much less stuff

  7. cold showers feeling nice because it’s a billion degrees

  8. making new friends every month

  9. learning songs from around the world

  10. children running up to you to hold your hand

  11. World Race (specifically K-Squad) lingo

  12. opportunities for adventure around every corner

  13. discovering ways to serve the Lord around the world by experiencing them

  14. communal closet

  15. getting dirty is normal and expected

  16. flip-flops are decent house shoes

  17. having so many minds to dig into the Word with

  18. my whole life revolving around ministry

  19. quiet time being built into my day and expected

  20. eating strange meals because you tried to make an American dish in a foreign country

  21. street food

  22. having so much time to focus on guitar

  23. appreciating wifi and A/C

  24. being challenged every day

  25. All 37 members of my K-Squad Family

  1. months when we walked everywhere

  2. all the inside jokes

  3. being called higher every day

  4. low-fashion is highly-acceptable

  5. literally no pressure to wear makeup

  6. fresh exotic fruits and veggies – can you say MANGO??

  7. having opportunities to be creative/a problem-solver every day

  8. one of the best praise teams I’ve ever been a part of

  9. regularly debriefing what the heck just happened in my life

  10. squeezing way more people into vehicles than there are seats for

  11. riding in truck beds and tuk-tuks

  12. home visits to church members and random neighbors

  13. being asked on the spot for a word from the Word

  14. eating with my hands or with chopsticks

  15. going barefoot without getting frostbite

  16. feeling so cute in Chacos, skinny jeans, and a massive t-shirt

  17. being able to count on one hand the amount of times I felt cold

  18. having people to help me hear from the Lord

  19. weekly check-ins with our mentor

  20. the incredible growth that I’ve seen here and at home

  21. finding American treats/tastes of home

  22. learning all the different ways to eat rice

  23. shopping in open air markets

  24. I’ve learned how to better love and care for myself

  25. I’ve learned how to better love and care of others

  26. experiencing the Great Commission regularly

  27. eating well on $5 a day or less

  28. learning how to live minimalistically

  29. worshipping with people from many tribes, nations, and tongues

  30. the constant motion has taught me to appreciate settling in

  31. discovering that Christian community and church are not always synonymous

  32. experiencing church services in different cultures

  33. the coffee

  34. I’ve become ever so slightly less high-pressure-perfectionist Type A

  35. I’m really good at packing now

  36. picking up new practices to enhance my faith, my life, and my relationships

  37. knowing I’m doing something to further the Kingdom

  38. seeing God move in so many ways

  39. feeling at home all over the world
