IT WAS MY BIRTHDAY! WOOOOO
I’m going to write another, more reflective post later, because this birthday was…interesting.
But on a more upbeat note and in no particular order, here are 24 things I’m looking forward to in my 23rd year, written by a 22 year old. 😉
-
I graduate from college in 10 days. That’s super exciting, and also bizarre.
-
I’m excited to have a year without school…I’m hoping it’ll make me miss it enough to want to go back. 😉
-
I get to meet my future friends soon! K-Squad has spent almost a whole year getting to know each other online, but soon we’ll get to meet in PERSON!
-
Not only the squad, but I cannot wait to meet my first team – my first World Race Family!!
-
I want to collect music along the way to use in my future classroom from kids and grown-ups alike. What better way to memorialize the trip of a lifetime than MUSIC?
-
I’m going swing dancing with some of my beloved Sconnies everytime I’m home.
-
I’m giving up added/processed sugar for the month of June. It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a long time, but have never been in a super conducive environment to do it. June is going to be a great month to go for it!
-
MY FRIENDS ARE GETTING MARRIED. And they asked my fiance and me to provide music for their wedding. What an incredible blessing.
-
My World Race account is going to be full by the end of June because my supporters are AWESOME.
-
I am overjoyed at the prospect of faith being my entire focus over the next year, with little to no distractions.
-
I’ll get to spend the 4th of July with my Mom’s side of the family, whom I adore.
-
I’ll get to spend the rest of July in Italy with my Dad’s side of the family, whom I adore.
-
At the end of July, I will have dual citizenship in the European Union!!
-
As much as I love Christmas in Wisconsin, I’m not going to miss subzero temperatures this winter.
-
I’m going to be commissioned by my church, my family, my friends, and my fiance pre-launch. Cue the tears.
-
I’m launching for the World Race!!! The journey that I’ve been preparing for and praying for since August is finally coming to fruition!!
-
I cannot wait to improve my Spanish in Central America.
-
I really want to zip line in Costa Rica. It’s something I’ve wanted to do for years and the opportunity is going to be so close.
-
I am so looking forward to Africa, especially worshipping with local congregations. My great grandparents were missionaries in West Africa in the ‘30’s, and I am so excited to follow in their footsteps.
-
I’m looking forward to re-experiencing Asian culture in better circumstances. That’s a blog for later.
-
I’m excited to eat and prepare new food in every country. I want to try to bring home at least one recipe from everywhere I go.
-
I am so so SO excited to not care about makeup or fashion. SO EXCITED.
-
I’m anticipating being completely broken by the Race, and I cannot wait to let God build me back up.
-
I know that God is going to use the Race to challenge, stretch, and strengthen me, and I’m excited to see how He does that.
