Welcome to my very first World Race blog post ! Boy OH boy are big things in store :,)
As I sat , mind blank , completely not knowing what to share , this quote came to mind :
“There is only one invitation it would kill me to refuse, yet I’m tempted to turn it down all the time. I get the invitation every morning when I wake up to actually live a life of complete engagement, a life of whimsy, a life where love does. It doesn’t come in an envelope. It’s ushered in by a sunrise, the sound of a bird, or the smell of coffee drifting lazily from the kitchen. It’s the invitation to actually live, to fully participate in this amazing life for one more day. Nobody turns down an invitation to the White House, but I’ve seen plenty of people turn down an invitation to fully live. Turning down this invitation comes in lots of flavors. It looks like numbing yourself or distracting yourself or seeing something really beautiful as normal. It can also look like refusing to forgive or not being grateful or getting wrapped around the axle with fear or envy. I think every day God sends us an invitation to live and sometimes we forget to show up or get head-faked into thinking we haven’t really been invited. But you see, we have been invited — every day, all over again”
This quote is taken from one of my favorite books called Love Does , written by Bob Goff (if you haven’t read it , I highly suggest reading it).
Every single day that we are living , breathing human beings we are invited over & over again to live on purpose. We are invited to take a step outside of the “motions”. We are invited to participate , to show up , to make each day mean something. But throughout each day , I am constantly tempted to be mediocre , to live a lukewarm life – we all experience this temptation.
If you don’t hear anything else that I say in this blog post , I want you to hear this : accepting the invitation is a choice – a choice that you get to make. YOU get to choose to add meaning to your day. YOU get to make each & every day of this life count. Because let me tell ya >> when you show up & accept that invitation , BIG things happen !!
The Big Man upstairs has ~CRAZY~ things planned for each & every one of y’all , things that are so great & so unimaginable !
I can remember a specific time last year that I was really struggling. I never really fit in high school , it just wasn’t for me. There was a specific point though that really beat me up. I was ready for something SO much bigger than myself. I knew wholeheartedly that there were bigger things in this world then attending 4 classes everyday that I was hardly interested in & then being expected to maintain good grades. My heart was yearning for something bigger , something more meaningful. After a conversation with a friend , I was immediately reminded that I had completely been ignoring the invitation that God was sending me each day. I was smacked back to real life & reminded to be ever so present in the place that God had me right then & there. & Even though it was not easy , I was constantly reminded to trust. God has a plan – a BIG plan !! Man , did He blow me away with His plan ! ! !
The World Race is BIG. The World Race is something so much bigger than myself , it is more meaningful. God answered my prayers & longings tenfold , not in my time but in HIS.
He reminded , He invited , He provided. Now , the choice is yours. As the invitation to truly live is presented to you , I pray that you choose to show up & accept the invitation. Big things are happening >> for me & for you.
