God calls you art.

Ephesians 2:10

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”

I haven’t stopped thinking about the way God chose to reveal Himself to me through this verse. If you know me-you know that I absolutely adore the creative process. If you can find it in an art museum, I’m probably head over heels for it. There is just something about delicate brush strokes on a canvas; and words that seem to float together effortlessly. Jesus knows us so well and speaks to our hearts in the most intentional ways!

The Greek word “poiema” is where we get “workmanship” from. Abba is literally calling us “a careful work of art.” The creator of shining stars and golden sunsets (two of the most breathe taking sights to ever exist) says you are a masterpiece! You are His poem. He looks at you and is proud of what He sees.

This verse is saying that God expresses Himself in us. An artist may use a canvas and a medium. Or a paper and pen. But God uses you and me. We are art-created to show the world His character. What a privilege to know you are chosen, predestined, to be a vessel that exudes His love and kindness.

Acknowledge how Abba has expressed Himself through you. And how you have watched Him shine through those in your life, or even a stranger! Tell those people when you see Him at work, seriously, you’ll probably make their week.

Reflecting on how God has changed my heart and made me new is probably the easiest way for me to see Him in myself. Know that I could never want to do this mission trip without first knowing Jesus. He makes me want to serve and love those living in the darkest places. He has changed my selfish heart, every ounce of “good” in me comes from Him.

Thank you for reading! A new blog post on fundraising, training camp, and launch will be headed your way soon:)

So much love,
