Hi sweet friends! I’m writing this to let you all know that it’s happening!!! God is so faithful and so so so good!
In September of 2018 I will embark on a nine month mission trip to Swaziland, India, and Guatemala!!! So many exclamation points, but I don’t think there will ever be enough to convey how excited I am about this!!! I’m sure this might take some of you by surprise so here is a little back story:
This summer, I became certain that immediately jumping into college was not the Lord’s plan for me. One night I was praying and I said these exact words “Lord, if you want me to become involved with missions make it happen.” Y’ALL he is making it happen. The next day, my dad and I were speaking and he brought up, you guessed it — missions. I hadn’t told him that I’d just prayed about it. He asked if I would be interested in participating in a mission trip or if that was something weighing on my heart. Fast forward, I came across the World race Gap year. I asked the Father to show me if it was his plan, or not. That same night I opened my Bible and James 1:23-27 was highlighted and I began to read. The beginning speaks about listening and doing. Verse 27 says “Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.”. After reading this everything began to flow together so smoothly and I just knew God was written all over it.
I’m so STOKED to get to share this journey with all of you wonderful people! I want this blog to be raw and real. This is where I will tell you about the joyful times and sad ones, the failures and successes, the good and the bad!
